He subsequently spent five years refining his craft in the workshop of the renowned Gio Batta Morassi.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn 1991, Portanti entered the prestigious Triennial competition for the first time and was awarded a Silver Medal. In 1994, he received the Gold Medal at the Moscow Tchaikovsky International Competition in the violin category — cementing his reputation as one of the foremost contemporary luthiers of Cremona. His atelier is located at Via Aselli 37, Cremona, where he continues to create violins, violas, and cellos inspired by the great Cremonese tradition.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis viola was made in 2025, a recent work from the prime of Portanti's craft.
